Be responsible for the college’s vision, mission and strategic plan.
Support the President in achieving the college’s vision, mission and strategic plan.
Ensure the needs of the community are incorporated in its strategic plan.
Establish annual objectives in support of the strategic plan.
Ensure financial solvency.
Enhance the college’s public image, including advocacy.
Be informed and attend meetings.

Makes good governance of the college its first priority.
Accepts responsibility and is accountable for the achievement of vision, mission and strategic plan.
Monitors progress toward accomplishment of the strategic plan as its focus.
Develops policies that facilitate the accomplishment of the strategic plan.
Insists on being informed with pertinent, relevant information; and, individual members take responsibility for reviewing the Board agenda and attending meetings.
Evaluates their own and the President’s effectiveness in achieving the college vision, mission and strategic plan.
Maintains a clear separation between the strategic and policy role of the Board and the day-to-day operational responsibilities of management.
